CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
MUSIC & MUSIC BUSINESS
KIDS ROCK - SONGWRITING JUNIOR (AGES 6-8)
Together we will write our own song! We will discuss chorus and verses, and how to use moods and feelings to make your own songs. Musical knowledge is not necessary but is helpful.
KIDS ROCK - SONGWRITING (AGES 8-13)
Want to be a pop star? Learn how to write your own songs. We will discuss writing a chorus and verses, and how to put your moods and feelings into your song. This workshop will focus primarily on lyrics over music. Musical knowledge is not necessary but is helpful. Bring paper and a pencil.
SONGWRITING FOR TEENS (AGES 13-18)
Learn to write and your own songs, or improve songs you've already composed. We will discuss the basic elements of songs from mood and feeling to hooks and bridges. This workshop focuses mainly on lyrics over music. Musical knowledge is not required but is helpful. This class ties in well with Teen Rock Star. Bring a notebook and pen.
TEEN ROCK STAR (AGES 13-18)
How to get started, get gigs and get known. Learn about the behind-the-scenes work that is involved in making CDs, videos and concerts. Topics covered include finding musicians to getting publicity. Nobody starts at the top, so if you are in the early stages of your music career, this is for you. This class ties in well with Teen Songwriting. Bring a notebook and pen. 
ART & MUSIC
KIDS ROCK - MAKING CD COVERS (AGES 8-13)
Get creative and make a custom cover for your home-made CDs or for your own songs from the songwriting class! Bring a pad of paper and your favourite art supplies. Some additional supplies will be provided.

CARTOONING FOR KIDS (AGES 7-12)
Have fun and learn how to draw your own crazy characters for one-panel cartoons, comic strips, and greeting cards. We will also learn how to create your own superheroes and comic books. Bring a pad of paper, pencil and eraser.
CARTOONING FOR TEENS (AGES 13-18)
Have fun and explore the many styles of cartooning. No experience necessary. We will discuss and try everything from comic strips to comic books, graphic novels to caricature. Come prepared to draw and share. Bring an 8 1/2 x 11" (or larger) sketchbook, pencils and eraser.
ART OF CARTOONING (for youthful grownups)
Have some fun and explore your creativity in this class for all skill levels. No experience necessary. In class discussions and activities will cover gag cartoons (perfect for personalized greeting cards), comic strips, comic books, caricature, editorial cartooning and more. Come prepared to draw and to share. Bring an 8 ½" X 11" (or larger) sketch book, pencils and eraser.
