My Pet Dragon

I like dragons as much as you do
I've got nothing against them
Dragons aren't scary, like in the books
But the can get quite expensive

My pet dragon is twenty feet tall
He weighs two thousand pounds
Too bad we don't have a house any more

He helped with the cooking by breathing fire
He helped get things off the roof
But he scares my friends and they stay away
One breath and they'd go POOF!

The neighbours were so scared one night
The police were called to see
The doorbell rang, I said "Come on in,
We're just sitting here watching TV."

The policeman couldn't believe it was true
A dragon right there to see
"There must be a law against this," he said
So he wrote a ticket for me

I can tell he's having a real good time
Because his tail is always wagging

People run in all directions (Aaah!)
And cars go off zig-zagging (beep beep)
Folks are scared, but not of me
It's my twenty-foot-tall pet dragon
